When you visit certain websites you may notice a new icon appear in the address bar of the site. I never really wanted one. But by default, when you add a site to the homepage of your iPhone (click on the plus sign in Safari and then click on Add to Home Screen), it will use that icon. Why do I care? I mean it’s not like anyone is likely to actually add this site to their home screen. But juuuuuust in case, I wanted it to have my spiffy new icon. You know, the one I spent at least 15 minutes building. Otherwise, when you add a page to…

This is the 1,500th Post on https://krypted.com/
Friday the 13th November 13, 2009 represents the day that the 1,500th post goes online at krypted.com. The site was started in the waning minutes of 2004 (darn New Years resolutions), which puts us at 5 years come new years this year. I hope that you have all enjoyed and I look forward to the next 1,500 posts. Having said that, it’s time to move. Over the course of the next two weeks I anticipate a little downtime as I do not have as much bandwidth to do the migration as perfectly as I would have if it were for a customer. My apologies in advance! 😉

5 Tools for Extending Google Apps
Google Apps has a nice little API that was developed for interfacing with it programatically. Well, a number of other vendors have been building around it for a little while and there’s starting to be a nice little suite. Allows for collaboration with external users as well. Tripit: allows you to see your travel plans and collaborate with others on their travel plans (wish American Express Travel had…

Initial Thoughts on Google Wave
For the first time today I had a chance to sit down and tinker around with Google Wave. And I have to say that if you remove all that hype that I think it’s a really cool tool. What is Google Wave? Apparently it’s a “Real Time Collaboration Platform.” OK, so what does that mean exactly?!?! Well, let’s break it down. Wave uses, well, waves. A Wave is kinda’ like a thread, or a project according to how you choose to use Wave. For now, I see a few main uses: As a replacement for other real-time instant messaging solutions (ie – iChat) for certain conversations where you need more…

No More Facebook Friends For You!
I got a message telling me that I have reached the maximum number of Facebook friends allowed. Apparently one is not allowed to have more than 5,000 friends. Go figure. Therefore, over the course of the next few weeks I’ll be trying to whittle that list down. If I inadvertently remove anyone then feel free to readd me, but if we haven’t actually met in person, please try and indicate why you’re adding me so I know it isn’t spam.
