    Missin' AM Radio?

Holiday gift idea inspired (for me at least) by Everclear’s AM Radio: The VCR and the DVD There wasn’t none of that crap back in 1970 We didn’t know about a World Wide Web It was a whole different game being played back when I was a kid Wanna get down in a cool way Picture yourself on a beautiful day Big bell bottoms and groovy long hair Just walkin’ in style with a portable CD player No, you would listen to the music on the AM radio AM radio Yeah, you could hear the music on a AM radio AM radio If you’re missing the AM radio (or FM…

    URL Shortening in WordPress

I’m now doing my own URL Shortening using the Pretty Link plugin for WordPress. For example, the following link is a bit long: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/christmas-in-the-heart/id331549170 So using Pretty Link, I tell it to add a link and then it gets shortened down to (or aliased to more like it): https://krypted.com//bob

Lots of new stuff: Command Line Wiki Integration

The Mac Commands page and the PowerShell Commands page are both now wikis and users with accounts on this site can edit them. Additionally I added a number of new pages worth of commands, FTP Commands, Windows Commands, Final Cut Server Commands, Amazon S3 Commands, Podcast Producer Commands and Xsan Commands; both of which are wikis as well.

    Fixes

Fixed the similar articles feature not working, then fixed the fact that this broke the front page. Also added some minor wiki integration (more on that tomorrow) and fixed the 1st level vs. 2nd level navigation in the DHTML menu bar. More on the navigation stuff later as this will lead to some content I’ve been working on going live tomorrow morning (I think).

Thanks for the Free Stuff Apple

iTunes is doing a special on 20 free songs for the holidays meaning that you can score 20 free songs on free music Tuesday this week! And in addition to that you can get another free Bob Dylan song (how cool is that) and a free music video from Beck and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Oh, and another free song from the 88. Then, by becoming a fan of iTunes on Facebook you get 20 more songs! Seems like someone is trying to kickstart the iTunes gift giving spree with a little free Christmas music. All that free stuff should leave plenty of money for buyin’ the new Jimmy Buffett though!

    Sending Command Keys Through ARD

You can send Command keys (aka – Open Apple and Closed Apple) through Apple Remote Desktop (ARD), or not send the Command keys through ARD. Your call: defaults write com.apple.RemoteDesktop DoNotSendSystemKeys 1 P.S. – Of course these are short, I’m on the road. Sorry for brevity but typing posts on the iPhone is not all it’s cracked up to be…
