Windows Keys:
- Alt+ Enter: shows properties for selection
- Alt+ Esc: switch between applications in the order they were opened
- Alt+ F4: closes the active window
- Alt + Shift + F4: closes all open windows of the type matching the Active Window
- Alt + Spacebar: shows the System menu
- Alt + Tab: switch between open applications
- Control + Escape: opens the Start Menu
- F1: requests help
- Shift: while inserting removable media, skips auto-run
- Shift: while logging in, bypasses startup items
- Shift + Delete: deletes the selection permanently
- Windows Key: opens the Start menu
- Windows Key+D: shows Desktop
- Windows Key + E: opens Internet Explorer (or the default browser if it is not IE)
- Windows Key + F: opens the Search option for files and folders
- Windows Key + F + Control: opens Search options
- Windows Key + F1: displays Help
- Windows Key + L: locks the Desktop
- Windows Key + M: minimize all windows
- Windows Key + M (when minimized): restores all windows
- Windows Key + R: opens the Run Dialog
- Windows Key + Tab: switch between open applications
- Windows Key + Shift + Tab: switches between open applications backwards
- Windows Key + U: opens Windows Utility Manager
- Windows Key + Break: shows System Properties
From a Folder:
- Alt+ Down Arrow: opens a drop-down list
- Alt + Spacebar: shows the System menu
- Alt+ any underlined Letter in a menu: Opens the menu with that letter
- Control + A: select all files and folders in the active screen
- Control + C: copies the selection to the clipboard
- Control + F: opens Search
- Control + H: replace text
- Control + N: creates new folders
- Control + O: summon open dialog
- Control + P: prints a document/file
- Control + S: save the active document/file
- Control + V: copy selection to clipboard
- Control + W: close the active window
- Control + X: remove a selection to the clipboard
- Control + Y: un-undo
- Control + Z: undo
- F10: Opens Menu Bar options
- Control + F4: list the address menu paths
- Shift + F10: Opens right click shortcut menu
- Windows Key + Up Arrow: Maximize (er, restore)
- Windows Key + Down Arrow: Minimize the window
- Windows Key + Shift + Up: Stretch Vertically
- Windows Key + Left arrow or Windows Key + Right arrow: Move to align with side of screen clicked
- Windows Key + Home: Minimize all other windows
When Clicked on an Item:
- F2: Rename
- F3: Open Search
- F5: Refresh
- F6: Cycle through screens in Windows Explorer
- Control + X: Cuts to clipboard
- Control + C: Copies to clipboard
- Control + V: Pastes from clipboard
- Shift + Delete: Deletes an item
- Alt + Enter: Opens Properties dialog for selection
- Control + A: Select all
- Backspace: switches to parent
