MacIT Is Coming Back In July

MacWorld is kinda’ dead. Long live MacWorld (I cry nightly over this). But MacIT, alive and well and awesome (I hadn’t really spent any time on the floor for a long time anyway)! Here’s the email announcing the MacIT dates, which will be July 14th through 16th in Santa Clara! I’m super-stoked! 🙂 Dear MacIT constituents, Mark your calendars for MacIT 2015! I’m pleased to announce that we have secured dates for the MacIT 2015 Conference. This year’s event will be held July 14-16 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Silicon Valley (Santa Clara, CA). Our team is hard at work to ensure the first “stand alone” MacIT is…

    MacIT Presentation

I enjoy going to MacIT so much. Paul Kent ran a great little conference in Monterrey one year and I am so glad that I started going to Macworld around that time. I missed it last year while trying to trim back on the travel and am pretty stoked I got to get there again this year. Special thanks to everyone I saw and was able to hang out with. Considering there isn’t a single person I didn’t want to hang out with, sorry if I didn’t see you or get to spend any time. Thanks to Duncan and Kevin White for making time to do the podcasts (hopefully the…

    MacIT Is Coming! #MacIT2014

Last year was my first year in many not being able to make it to MacIT. This year, I made it a priority to get out to the area and I’m glad to report the good people that select speakers elected to have me join in the revelry. If you haven’t yet made plans to get to San Francisco from March 26th to the 29th you should. While the speakers and sessions haven’t been officially announced, the page that they should appear on soon is http://www.macitconf.com/sessions. For more information on the logistics around the conference, check out http://www.macitconf.com. Look forward to seeing you there!

    MacTech Conference 2012 In Retrospect

I love going to conferences. MacTech Conference this year is a great example of why. The conference organizers and staff did a superb job, the attendees were top notch and the weather was just right. But it was the same last year in all three regards. What I felt really made MacTech special this year was the Disney pixie dust magic coming together with all of that. And I was only there for a day, regrettably… The talent level at these events continues to be top notch. As Jeff, Nigel, Peter, Gary, now Zack and others have moved on to other platforms and other roles I have continually wondered whether…

iOS Device Sales Outpace All Macs Ever (in 2011 alone)

In search of the American Dream? Apple has sold approximately 122 million Macs over the course of 28 years. They have sold 55 million iPads since those were released in April 2010 (in less than 2 years) and sold 156 million iOS Devices for 2011 alone, bringing the total of iOS devices to 316 million. The handset market is set to increase by around 33 percent and there’s really no telling where the tablet market is set to go over the course of the next few years. What does all of this mean? It means that iOS is continuing to increase in visibility, that App Store sales will continue to rise…

    MacTech, Slides and Conference Goodness

MacTech Day 1 My MacTech experience started last night. I flew into Los Angeles and was picked up at the airport by my coworker, Zack Smith. Given that I lived in Santa Monica for over a decade, I drove the Mini Cooper that 318 bought recently from LAX to Studio City. On the way, I got to get caught up with Zack’s stories from a month of vacation (living vicariously through others definitely has its moments). We got to the Universal City Sheraton in less than an hour during rush hour. Given the 405 being all messed up, we dodged a few bullets and cut through South Central Los Angeles…
