OK folks. Let me tell you about something that I’ve never seen happen, ever in my travels. I’m taking a red eye from LAX on a Friday night, to Minneapolis. I’m on time for the flight, ready to go – but the flight isn’t there. No one at the gate. The airline desk is closed. Weird… Maybe Sun Country just sold me the ticket and I’m actually with a different airline. So call the Sun Country desk – at midnight on a Friday night – no answer. Weird. So call them again, this time an answer. But not good news. The flight was cancelled two days ago and Sun Country no longer offers ANY flights on a weekend from LAX. They also have no partners. They also have no manager on duty nor any customer service agents on the weekend. So what am I supposed to do I ask, just stay in LA for the weekend?” And here’s the kicker, they say YES.
This is what I get for not buying my ticket on American Express. Lesson learned. Amex travel would never, ever leave me hanging like that. So, no more Sun Country and no more buying tickets through someone other than Amex for Charles…
