Growl for Windows

I’ve grown to love and to hate the growl alerts on my Mac.  Whether it’s Lithium telling me a server is down and I have to get back to work or my favorite FTP app telling me a transfer is complete or being notified that the Subversion box at the office just had a new copy of a script checked in and I need to go review something.  Across the board it’s a love hate relationship.  And the one place where I’ve always found solace is Microsoft Windows.  You see, when I’m on Windows I don’t get those updates…  But all of that is changing because of growlforwindows. Now, the Windows boxen is getting many of the same features that the Macs had and even a hook into Asterisk as thought it couldn’t be more evil. At the end of the day I guess I love all of this integration and popping up on my main workhorse telling me what’s up. But wouldn’t it be nice to get away from it all every now and then. I heard someone at the office saying they were working on a growl update that would open the laptop back up after I close it… Wonder if they can have one that pulls it back out of the trash after I toss it in there…
