Tiny Deathstars of Foulness

KBOX supports package distribution and inventory management for Mac OS X.  KBOX is more commonly known though, for providing imaging, software distribution and inventory management for Windows environments.  But the imaging is what’s missing in the offering for Mac OS X.  So if you’re planning a KBOX deployment then consider going ahead and also planning a NetInstall, NetRestore or InstaDMG deployment to go right along with it for your Mac environment.

Please stay away from KACE for mac deployment. We have a mutl-formated shop. Our higher ups choose KACE because of its flexibility of being able to do windows and OSX.

Their media manager for OSX locks up, won’t complete a full netboot image transfer (if it transfers at all). Our group has been working with their tech support for months without any resolve. All we get back is “they are baffled by the errors”.

Our window deoplyment guy says it works great for windows. if doing mac i would stick with deployStudio, Casper, etc.
